RP Treatment for hair restoration can help you restore fullness to your hair and scalp and strength to the hair follicles. This treatment uses your own platelets to dramatically improve the appearance of your hair.
PRP Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is concentrated blood plasma which contains approximately three to five times the number of platelets found in normal circulating blood. In addition, it includes platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), transforming growth factor (TGF) and other bioactive proteins that aid in wound healing and can help thicken and restore hair growth. When the platelet-rich plasma is collected from the body and redelivered to the scalp either by several tiny injections or via microneedling, it can have a powerful effect. When the PRP is delivered into the scalp, it stimulates follicles and increases the number of hairs per follicle, resulting in thicker, healthier hair.
Unlike some procedures which use medication that can cause the libido to lower, PRP has no side effects. Because PRP works on active follicles, it’s a preventative treatment intended to slow hair loss and thinness, so it’s best embarked upon when you first start to notice a problem. Please be aware that it is not a treatment for baldness. However, PRP can help improve the results of hair transplants.Procedure Videos
Nearly all men (95%), at some point, will experience a receding hairline and thinning hair on the top of the head, also known as male pattern baldness. This condition, androgenetic alopecia, is caused by a by-product of testosterone called DHT. However, hair loss is not just a concern for men. As women age, hair becomes thinner and the hair follicle less healthy, which can result in hair looking and feeling thinner.
PRP Hair restoration can deliver remarkable improvement to your appearance (and even your confidence).
We provide only the latest and proven techniques in hair transplantation employing the best technique or a mixture of different techniques to suite your specific needs. As with any skin procedure, there is some degree of discomfort. We make every effort to minimize the level of discomfort. We use our Ouchless Injection Technique and Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas). Almost all patients inform us afterward that they experienced much less discomfort than they had anticipated. After the procedure there will be minimal discomfort. Dr. Smith is present every step of the way from the free consultation to the completion of your hair restoration process.
Your family, friends, and even your hair dresser will find your hair transplantation virtually undetectable.
After the surgery, your scalp may be very tender. You may need to take pain medications for several days. Your surgeon will have you wear bandages over your scalp for at least a day or two. He may also prescribe an antibiotic or an anti-inflammatory drug for you to take for several days. Most people are able to return to work 2 to 5 days after the operation.
We are also pleased to carry topical thickening and hair regrowth products from some of the world’s top brands—including medicated shampoos, conditioners, and other treatments that can restore your scalp to proper health and hair-growing vigor. Sometimes hair loss can’t be stopped, but if you catch it early and take immediate action, you can often undo its unwanted effects.
The total surface area and severity of alopecia is different from person to person. During your free consultation, Dr. John Smith will openly and honestly outline the cost and individualized plan for you. There will be no hidden costs. Financing is available for those who qualify.
